Step into a world where creativity meets social impact.

Maccasy Agency proudly presents a firsthand account of our photographer's captivating journey into the heart of a remarkable event: the exhibition titled "What Were You Wearing?"
Our lens captured the essence of this thought-provoking showcase, which unfolded its compelling narrative from 20 June until 1 July in the vibrant city of Brussels.

In collaboration with the Spotlight Initiative, an empowering UN-EU partnership dedicated to eradicating violence against women and girls, and Rise, a courageous survivor-led civil rights organization, this exhibition embarked on a profound mission.
It aimed to challenge society's preconceived notions about sexual assault survivors, while subverting the insidious question that too often haunts them: "What were you wearing?"

Our presence at the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region allowed us to witness the transformation of a space into a sanctuary of empowerment. As visitors stepped through the exhibition's doors, they embarked on a poignant journey, guided by a series of 103 outfits meticulously arranged throughout the space.
Each garment symbolized a survivor's bravery and resilience in the face of unspeakable trauma, representing the staggering statistic of 1.3 billion survivors worldwide.

These diverse ensembles spoke volumes, transcending age, gender, and culture, to deliver a powerful message: the clothing worn by survivors at the time of their attacks holds no relevance to their experiences.
The exhibition's curated collection of outfits became a visual testament, effectively dismantling the fallacy that victim-blaming rests upon. It boldly exposed the pervasive nature of sexual assault, forcing society to confront its misconceptions and biases head-on.

With a keen eye for capturing raw emotions, immortalized the moments when visitors stood in awe, contemplating the significance of each garment. Through their lens, the profound impact of this exhibition materialized, allowing viewers to perceive the shared humanity that unites survivors in their struggle for justice and healing.

We are honored to have been a part of this transformative event. Our commitment to elevating important narratives aligns seamlessly with the exhibition's vision. Through our photographs, we aimed to amplify the voices of survivors and advocate for a world where victim-blaming has no place.

"What Were You Wearing?" served as a catalyst for change, challenging societal norms and fostering dialogue. It sparked conversations that will ripple through communities, encouraging empathy and support for survivors everywhere.

Together, let us stand in solidarity, amplifying their stories and dismantling the barriers that hinder progress towards a safer, more compassionate world.

Join us in embracing the power of art to effect change. Together, we can shatter stereotypes, empower survivors, and pave the way for a future free from the shackles of sexual violence.
